That crisp evening in 2021, the Catholic Young Adult group was finally meeting as society was re-opening after the pandemic. At Dust Bowl Brewery in Monterey, David was there making new friends in faith. Francesca arrived fashionably late, looked around in search of the group. She glanced over, noticed David standing with beer in hand and a smile on his face. She thought to herself "that guy is so handsome! He must not be with the church group!" She continued to look around until she ultimately approached the picnic table where he was standing and asked "is this the young Catholics group?" to a woman sitting down. She said "yes this is!" with excitement.

Francesca gazed up and locked eyes with David. His retro-style glasses were hard to go unnoticed. She extended a hand and introduced herself to David. They eventually sat together among the group and began talking, with eyes locked onto one another intently.

The evening was coming to an end and David wanted to walk Francesca to her car. As they were paying for the beer, David explained "your name is the only name I remembered tonight." This made Francesca's heart skip a beat! He walked her to her car and they exchanged phone numbers with hopes to meet again.

They ultimately went on their first date two days later as they shared pizza together in downtown Monterey. After that, they continued to see each other daily and the rest is history!

Fast forward to October 2022, just before their one-year dating anniversary, they headed to Italy together! This trip was intended as a last hooray before Francesca started PA school. Little did she know that David had a plan.

After daily mass at the Duomo Cathedral in Milan, Italy, David and Francesca stayed sitting in the pew. The security guard was standing by, waiting for them to leave. Suddenly as they were praying together, David began to tear up. He explained he'd been praying hard about something, then pulled out a blue lapus ring and proposed!!

They had chosen a personalized diamond ring before the trip but the completion date was after their return home. Francesca was NOT expecting this to happen so soon after choosing a ring!

Now, almost 2 years later, they feel so excited and blessed to complete the sacrament of holy matrimony at the church where they met, surrounded by their loved ones.
